RICHI Wood
Pellet Making Machine
Since its establishment in 1995, RICHI has focused on feed machinery for 31 years, committed to achieving maximum long-term value with the lowest operating costs.

Product Introduction
Utilizing a high-pressure compression molding process, RICHI wood pellet mills produce uniform, high-density, and high-calorific-value wood pellet fuel ranging in size from 6 to 12 mm, with a broad production capacity of 1 to 30 tons per hour. This equipment is capable of efficiently processing a wide variety of wood materials and fibrous stalks.
The combustion of the final pellet products releases significantly fewer harmful gases than ordinary coal; consequently, they are now widely utilized across the globe in sectors such as large-scale power generation, industrial and residential heating, and industrial boiler systems.

Highly Efficient and Powerful
The pulverizing system employs a hammer mill featuring a teardrop-shaped grinding chamber. By combining high-speed rotating hammers with an 8mm-aperture sieve plate, the system refines wood chips into fine sawdust through a process of impact and friction.
Additionally, it is equipped with an induced draft fan and a cyclone dust separation system to ensure the smooth discharge of fine powder while maintaining a clean working environment.
Intelligent Temperature and Humidity Control
The granulation chamber is equipped with a dedicated exhaust port connected to an induced draft fan and a cyclone separator, enabling the timely discharge of the hot, moist steam generated during high-temperature granulation to prevent material agglomeration. Temperatures during the granulation process can reach 70–80°C, thereby ensuring effective sterilization.
The wood sawdust pelletizer is designed to operate within an ambient temperature range of 5–40°C and can be seamlessly integrated—from a process engineering standpoint—with a complete pelletizing system.
Guarantee of Exceptional Quality
By adjusting the distance between the cutter and the outer diameter of the ring die, the pellet length can be controlled within a range of 1.5 to 3 times the diameter, thereby meeting the requirements of various combustion equipment.
When combined with constant-pressure compaction, the cutting mechanism ensures a stable granulation rate of over 98%, thereby significantly reducing the rate of particle pulverization. The resulting finished granules feature a smooth surface and high internal density.
Comprehensive Coverage Across All Scenarios
It offers broad adaptability to raw materials—ranging from sawdust and wood shavings to palm shells and cotton stalks—all of which can be reliably pelletized following pretreatment processes such as crushing and drying.
The finished wood pellet products meet the requirements of biomass power plants and residential heating systems, boasting a combustion efficiency exceeding 80% and enabling clean emissions. Furthermore, these finished pellets can serve as a high-quality carrier or soil conditioner in the production of organic fertilizers.

Main Components
of Pellet Mill
Wood pellet making machine is mainly composed of three main parts: arch-breaking feeder, forced feeding device and main machine. The following is a brief introduction to the main components of the pellet maker.
arch-breaking forced
Variable-Frequency
Engineered with a dual-shaft counter-rotating material stirring structure, this design effectively prevents bridging and arching of wood chips. Meanwhile, it is equipped with variable-frequency feeding regulation, which automatically adjusts the feed rate according to the current of the main motor. The arch-breaking feeder features a power range of 2.2–4 kW, delivering a uniform and steady material flow for downstream processing.
forced feeding device
High-Force Push-Type
It adopts an extended variable-pitch forced feeder to positively convey pre-conditioned wood chips into the pelleting chamber. Feeding speed is fully adjustable to accommodate raw materials with different moisture contents. In addition, the drive system utilizes a worm gear reducer. Compared with conventional belt transmission, it offers more precise speed ratio matching and lower long-term maintenance costs.
Granulation Main Unit
Intelligent and Efficient
This unit uses a high-efficiency Siemens motor and comes with an intelligent power regulation system. We fabricate the ring die and pressure rollers from stainless steel and 42CrMo alloy to greatly reduce wear and tear. Furthermore, the machine is fitted with safety protection mechanisms that automatically cut off power in the event of abnormal operating conditions, thereby ensuring the safe and secure operation of the equipment.

wood pellet Process Flow
RICHI wood pellet mills offer modular solutions from raw material receiving to finished product packaging. Below is the processing flow of their production line.
Preparation and Cutting
Large timber pieces, such as tree trunks, are first debarked and split, then cut into qualified wood chips by a drum chipper.
Crushing
The wood chips are pulverized by a hammer mill into sawdust with a particle size suitable for granulation.
Drying
Sawdust with excessive moisture content enters a rotary dryer, where its moisture level is precisely reduced to between 13% and 17%.
Granulation
The dried wood chips are fed into a wood pelletizer via a variable-frequency feeder, where they are extruded and formed under the immense pressure of a ring die and pressure rollers, and subsequently cut to the desired length by a cutter.
Cooling and Screening
Hot granules at 80–98°C enter a counter-flow cooler to be cooled to room temperature, and are subsequently passed through a vibrating grading screen to remove fines.
Packaging
The qualified finished granules enter the automated packaging system, where weighing, sealing, and warehousing are completed.

Tailored Solutions
Based on the specific characteristics of the raw materials or site constraints, RICHI’s engineers will redesign the process workflow and adjust the quantity of required equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions
The following is a summary of frequently asked questions regarding configuration, installation, after-sales service, pricing, and complete plant setup, to help you quickly understand RICHI products.
What is an arch-breaking feeder?
An arch-breaking feeder is a specialized device mounted on the mill feeding hopper. Agricultural residues such as stalk powder and grass powder have poor fluidity and tend to form bridging blockages inside the hopper and stop feeding. Built with a low-speed stirring shaft, it continuously agitates materials to break arching structure, ensuring steady and uniform material flow into the downstream forced feeder for stable continuous production.
Can your pellet mill handle reeds, straw, and wood waste?
Yes, it can process many types of biomass, including reeds, straw, and wood residue. Just make sure the raw material has no sand, stones, or metal bits in it.
How should I store wood pellets?
Keep them out of direct sunlight – heat can cause them to shrink. Store them in a well – ventilated area. Pellets can release carbon monoxide gas, especially in warm places, so good airflow is important to avoid poisoning.
What does the cooler do? Can I skip buying it?
The cooler lowers the temperature and moisture of the pellets, making them harder and stronger. This helps with storage and transport. If you want to save money, you can use just a cooling conveyor instead.
Core Equipment Configuration?
All equipment uses Siemens motors and SKF bearings; all parts in contact with materials are made of stainless steel.
Not satisfied with the price?
We recommend suitable models and processes based on customer needs, patiently answer questions, and provide multiple solutions for users to choose from.
