This section shows you the main process of wood pellet production from raw materials to finished product.
Wood Chipping Section
Large pieces of wood, such as logs, planks, and trunks, cannot be directly fed into the shredder. They must be processed into small wood chips of 3-5cm by a drum chipper before they can enter the next stage of processing.
Cleaning Section
Raw materials such as wooden pallets, straw, and peanut husks may contain impurities such as nails, stones, and sand. To prevent damage to machinery and equipment, cleaning equipment such as iron removers is needed to clean the raw materials.
Crushing Section
After the material is cleaned, it is conveyed by a belt conveyor to a water-drop hammer mill for crushing, making the particle size more uniform and facilitating subsequent granulation.
Drying Section
The pulverized material is dried by a rotary drum drying machine to achieve a moisture content of 15% to 18%, which is ideal for granulation.
Pelleting Section
After the above steps are completed, the pelleting step is taken, where a wood pellet mill is used to make the dried material into finished pellets of uniform size and length (4-12mm).
Cooling & Screening Section
The produced granules are at a relatively high temperature, so they should be cooled by a counter-current cooler before packaging. After cooling, the waste material is removed by a rotary classifier.
Packaging Section
This section is the last step in the production of wood pellets, where the sieved pellets are packaged by an automatic packaging machine.
